    This listing is for a L.C. Smith & Brothers Typewriter Company Award lapel pin.
    The pin is sterling silver with enamel. It is marked "Sterling Silver" and "L.G. Balfour Co" on the back. It measures approximately 1/2" tall and wide. The pin closure is in good working order.
    Wikipedia: Lyman C. Smith and his brothers quit The Union Typewriter Company in 1903 and founded L. C. Smith & Bros. Typewriter Company. The new company soon released the "L.C. Smith & Bros. Model No. 2", a full year later, they released the "L.C. Smith & Bros. Model No. 1." In 1906, Smith bought the Rose Typewriter Company of New York City and in 1909 renamed it The Standard Typewriter Company. With the success of their Corona model typewriter, in 1914 The Standard Typewriter Company became the Corona Typewriter Company. In 1926 the name was changed again to the Smith Corona Typewriter Company.
