You are bidding on an interesting item from the early days of trains. This is the JAPANESE version of the classic Lionel 552 train conductor. Most of the Japanese versions were made of some kind of composition material rather than hollow cast lead like Lionel's.
This is one of the Japanese composition figures. "JAPAN" is in the bottom of the base.
They are roughly 3 3/8" tall. As you can see, there is significant paint flaking and wear. one of them has a broken base. Some of their friends are available in other listings this week--buy more and save on shipping.
A very interesting item for your collection or your conversation...Not something you see everyday.
