Made by J.C.R PercussionQuick History About The Cowbell
J.C.R cowbells was created in the Bronx, NYC for many years by Calixto "Cali" Rivera. He passed away in 2017 so the bells are no longer made. There are lots of alternative bell made by LP, Pearl/Afro. Meinl and other companies. Really JCR cowbells are the best bells because of the purity of pitch, solid feel, volume, ring and quality build.
For decades, from a tiny and crowded space in a nondescript building in the shadow of Yankee Stadium
Cali Rivera build instruments for The Worlds Great Latin Percussionists: Tito Puente, Eddie Montalvo, Giovanni Hidalgo, Bobby Sanabria. Rivera had no sign, no storefront, no advertising of any kind, But people use to call him from around the world for his work. All was made handmade by Calixto "Cali" Rivera.
Calixto "Cali" Rivera's father was an instrument maker, and he picked up the tradition. He once made congas, bongos and other drums, but Cali he specializes in cowbells of all sorts. He makes them with machines he designed himself, with only his wife for support.
