    DESCRIPTION:
    This is an amateur photograph taken in 1959 at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, only four years after the amusement park opened. The photo was among a number of snapshots taken when a family's mother was vacationing in California. This photo is captioned "Disneyland 1959" by the family, and it pictures a view down Main Street USA from Center Street West (identified by a street sign on the left), with Sleeping Beauty Castle in the background. Shops line the street, with a "Bake Shop" sign legible on the left. A horse-drawn street car moves toward the camera on a set of trolly tracks. Two early motorized vehicles are also on the street. In addition to the typed captions identifying the year as 1959, the back of the photograph has a date that shows the photo was developed on April 10, 1959. The photo is on heavy photo paper with a matte finish.
